His works tackle urgent political and cultural issues, from sectarian conflict in Cahaya dari Timur: Beta Maluku (2014) to political exile in Surat dari Praha (2016), and social injustice in 13 Bombs (2023). In 2022, he broke new ground with Mencuri Raden Saleh, a genre-bending heist thriller that redefined the commercial Indonesian box office with its bold narrative and global sensibility.
As founder and CEO of Visinema, Angga is deeply committed to nurturing the future of Indonesian storytelling. He actively supports emerging filmmakers and champions diverse narratives, particularly in hyperlocal stories and family-friendly content. His leadership has expanded Visinema’s reach into the animation space, producing high-quality works like Nussa (2021) and Jumbo (2025), which combine entertainment with cultural relevance and aspirational values.
Through bold vision and unwavering advocacy, Angga continues to push the boundaries of what Indonesian cinema can achieve—locally rooted, emotionally resonant, and globally impactful. As Vice Chairman of the Indonesia Motion Pictures Association, he also plays a key role in shaping industry policy and championing sustainable growth for the next generation of filmmakers.
