Prof. Kenneth Kim

Kenneth Kim is a Professor in the Department of Culture Contents at Hanyang University in Korea. His research area includes media and entertainment. He has published many research papers with topics including – K-pop, Hallyu, drama, animation, and theme parks. He served as an Associate Vice President at the Office of Admissions, and the director of Academic Information and Library. He was a visiting scholar and an adjunct professor at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia in 2022. He served as the first president of the K-Contents Academy Forum in 2024 and served the second term as Vice Chairman of the Human Contents Association which publishes the Korea Cited Index Premium journal.

 

Prior to University, he spent over 20 years as a professional in industries including Samsung, CJ, and Walt Disney Company. At CJ E&M, he was the Head of International Business Development and International Sales. He managed international television channels including tvN Asia, Mnet America, and Mnet Japan. Mnet Asian Music Awards, and K-CONs are some of the notable global events he worked on.
