Umay Shahab is an acclaimed Indonesian film director, actor, and producer known for his sharp storytelling and strong visual sensibility. In 2019, he co-founded Sinemaku Pictures with Prilly Latuconsina and currently serves as the company’s Chief Creative Officer (CCO).

 

Since stepping into the director’s chair, Umay has made a significant mark on the industry, becoming the only Indonesian film director to achieve a hat-trick of back-to-back box office successes since his debut feature. His directorial works — including Kukira Kau Rumah, Ketika Berhenti di Sini, and Perayaan Mati Rasa — have resonated strongly with audiences, earning both critical acclaim and commercial success.
