Guillermo Rodríguez is a senior executive in the field of digital content protection and anti-piracy, currently serving as Live Content Protection Director at the Motion Picture Association (MPA) since October 2025. In this role, he leads global strategies to protect live audiovisual content, focusing on real-time piracy disruption across digital platforms. He works closely with studios, technology partners, online intermediaries, and regulatory bodies to strengthen enforcement frameworks and drive coordinated international actions against illegal streaming.
Prior to joining MPA, Guillermo served as Director of Anti-Fraud Operations at LaLiga, one of the most influential sports organizations worldwide. In that position, he led and coordinated global anti-fraud and anti-piracy operations, developing and executing strategies to protect the rights of content owners and broadcasters. His responsibilities included overseeing content protection services, leading risk assessment initiatives, and building strategic partnerships with key stakeholders such as ISPs, digital platforms, and law enforcement agencies.
With a degree in Business Administration and an Executive MBA, Guillermo has built a solid career at the intersection of technology, media, and digital rights protection. His international experience spans the United Arab Emirates and the United States, where he worked in fast-paced, multicultural environments and developed a global perspective on digital threats and enforcement strategies.
Before joining LaLiga in January 2021, Guillermo held senior roles at Smart Protection, where he contributed to the expansion of digital security solutions and the company’s international growth. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his expertise in anti-piracy, content protection technologies, and operational leadership.
