YouTube India
Gunjan Soni leads YouTube’s mission in India as its Country Managing Director, a role she stepped into in April 2025. With a career spanning over 20 years across tech, media, and retail, Gunjan is responsible for steering YouTube’s growth in one of its most vibrant global markets. Her work centers on supporting India’s massive community of creators and ensuring the platform remains the go-to place for millions to learn, share, and be entertained.
Before joining the team at Google and YouTube, Gunjan spent six years in Singapore as the Group CEO of ZALORA, Southeast Asia’s top fashion e-commerce site. There, she was the driving force behind turning the platform into a data-led retail leader while championing sustainability in the fashion industry. Her deep connection to India’s technology sector was built through senior roles at Myntra and Jabong, where she helped turn online fashion into a household staple. Earlier in her career, as an Executive Vice President at Star India, she was part of the core team that launched Hotstar (now Disney+ Hotstar), a move that fundamentally changed how people in India watch TV and movies.
She spent nearly a decade as a Partner at McKinsey & Company, advising some of the world’s biggest brands on how to adapt to the digital age. Her work has earned her several honors, including being named one of Fortune India’s 40 Under 40 and appearing regularly on the list of the 50 Most Influential Women in India.
