Karen Seah is a media entrepreneur and the Founder and CEO of Refinery Media, Southeast Asia’s leading unscripted production company. A seasoned showrunner and executive producer, she has shaped some of the region’s most recognisable reality franchises, including SupermodelMe, Asia’s Next Top Model, Cesar’s Recruit Asia, and The Apprentice: ONE Championship Edition. Her latest series, Man of the Hour, premiered on Discovery Asia and Discovery+ in the United States, with a second season slated for production in 2026.
Under her leadership, Refinery has expanded into scripted television and film, producing the Taiwanese series The Century Egg and co-producing the Indonesian feature film Mothernet for Netflix.
Beyond content creation, Karen founded X3D Studio, the world’s first ARRI-accredited virtual production studio, and co-founded Gengis AI, Singapore’s first production-ready AI-enabled studio. She is recognised for pushing creative and technological boundaries, positioning herself at the forefront of Asia’s evolving media landscape.
