Mike Sneesby is Chief Executive Officer of MBC Group, the Middle East and North Africa's leading media and entertainment conglomerate, which reaches more than 150 million viewers each week across its network of free-to-air channels, digital platforms and premium streaming service Shahid. He assumed the role in May 2025, bringing to the position a career defined by building and scaling streaming businesses from the ground up, and a track record of applying global technology platforms to local market realities across some of the most competitive media environments in the world. Prior to joining MBC Group, Sneesby served as CEO of Nine Entertainment from 2021 to 2024, leading Australia's largest media company across its broadcast, streaming and publishing assets. Before that, he was the founder and CEO of Stan, which he launched in 2013 and built into one of Australia's most successful subscription streaming platforms, establishing it as a genuine competitor in a market rapidly being reshaped by global entrants. He also served as CEO of e-commerce platform Cudo and as Vice President of IPTV at Intigral, giving him an unusually broad foundation across content, connectivity and commerce.

At MBC Group, Sneesby leads an organisation at an inflection point. The group listed 10% of its equity on the Saudi Stock Exchange at the end of 2023, is accelerating the growth of Shahid as its primary digital vehicle, and holds exclusive MENA rights to a growing portfolio of premium sports content including Saudi Pro League football. With the Saudi government holding a 60% stake and the group's founding chairman Waleed bin Ibrahim Al-Ibrahim driving an ambitious expansion agenda, Sneesby's mandate is to deepen MBC's digital transformation, extend Shahid's reach and monetisation, and build on the group's position as the defining media platform for Arabic-speaking audiences worldwide. His appointment represents one of the most significant leadership transitions in MENA media in recent years and signals the group's intent to bring a distinctly platform-native lens to a broadcast institution that has dominated the region for over three decades.
