Dr Tariq Alam is Chief Executive Officer of Akash Digital TV, a leading video distribution platform with DTH and streaming products and services. He is one of the leading figures working towards shaping the future of Media and Entertainment in the country. He has driven the Digital transformation of the company and in 2024 in collaboration with Tata Play Ltd as technology and strategic (knowledge) partner, launched the Akash Go companion app providing for the first time to audiences in the country, Live TV Channels and access to local and global premium content on a mobile device.

His career expands over several industries including Semiconductor technology, Renewable energy and Media & Entertainment where he has a demonstrated a leadership track record for creating effective, collaborative strategies that have ensured successful outcomes. He started his career in the USA with a leading tech company and worked his way up to Global VP of Sales, Customer Operations & Marketing. His different executive roles through his career has led to living in India, UAE and Singapore.
