Joe Taslim is an Indonesian actor and former Judo athlete. Received recognization in the 2012 action film The Raid: Redemption. Few actors in Indonesia have had a career quite as diverse as Joe Taslim. Since his success in The Raid (2012), he’s participated in Fast and Furious 6 (2013), Star Trek Beyond (2016), a leading role on Netflix Original The Night Comes for Us (2018) an Indonesian action thriller film, to then Sub-Zero, a leading role in Mortal Kombat (2021). Taslim also plays in Max’s Original martial arts series Warrior (2019 – 2023).

Taslim was born in South Sumatera, Indonesia. He was exposed to martial arts at an early age. His martial arts training includes Wushu, Judo, Taekwondo. However, he found his passion in Judo and this led to his career as a professional Judo athlete. He won several gold medals from 1997 -2009 in Asian and National championships.
