Mr. Pratthana Leelapanang is Chief Consumer Business Officer of Advanced Info Service Plc. (AIS), focusing on marketing and sales for mass segments as well as digital products and services and all retail shops. AIS is the leading mobile operator in Thailand and has a growing share of Thailand’s high speed fixed broadband sector with its recent acquisition of 3BB. Mr. Leelapanang has been with Advanced Info Service Plc. for 22 years. He worked as an engineer for 6 years (1996- 2002) and was responsible for planning GSM and NMT switching network infrastructure, and value-added network infrastructure. In 2003, he moved on to a new role as the Wireless Service Planning & Development Manager. He was then promoted to Vice President Value Added Service Business and the Senior Vice President Digital Product & Service in 2008 and 2012 respectively. A year later, he was appointed as the Executive Vice President Marketing. He served as the Acting Chief Marketing Officer from 2016 to 2017 when he took on the role of Chief Consumer Business Officer.
As of the end of 2023, AIS retained its position as the leading mobile operator in Thailand with a revenue market share of 49%, a total subscriber of 44.6 million nationwide, and a 5G customer base of 9.2 million. In 2015, AIS started its fixed broadband business under the “AIS Fibre” brand. In 2023, AWN, a subsidiary of AIS, acquired Triple T Broadband Public Company, the provider of fixed broadband internet under “3BB” brand with 2.3 million users. AIS now has a 46% fixed broadband subscriber market share with a total 4.7 million users. AIS adopts Ecosystem Economy principle by building collaboration with commercial partners for mutual growth to offer digital services, focused on three areas: video platform, mobile money transactions, and others such as insurance, gaming, and digital advertisements. The digital service is expected to play a key role in strengthening relationships between AIS and its customers and generating a new revenue source for AIS in the future apart from revenue from data connection and mobile internet fees. It also enables AIS to become an integrated service provider by converging its four core services together.
